Current status on tasks:
Ramona: Talk to politicians

I reached Larry Roberts, aide to Gonzales. Asked about previous efforts.
He recalls discussing it with Migden and an aide in Leno's office. He
does note that he has not seen an increase in parking issues himself and
I told him that the BofA lot is overflowing and that we did not want to
do anything to jeopardize that resource.
He is to call me back when he finds the material. I will birddog it if
I do not hear.
Ramona: Talk to politicians

I heard from Amy (Sup. Gonzalez' office) yesterday. The update is that
they are in communication with Burton's office and Department of Parking
and Traffic and pursuing whether the lot may be used as a permitted lot
for residents in the area. I don't know whether that means that
residents may be issued or charged for a specific permit to park there
in exchange for an agreement to respect business hours of DMV or what.
Am pleased that someone from his office has sunk her teeth into the
issue and between Burton and Gonzalez offices we may get something
different than a locked lot. It may be helpful if others called their
offices to state appreciation for working on the issue and confirming
that the neighborhood needs additional parking.
